Referral Services
Gilabbey Veterinary Hospital has a multi-disciplinary referral service and provides specialist care for dogs and cats referred to us by veterinary surgeons across Ireland. Within the practice we have a team of highly trained and skilled veterinary specialists working in a number of disciplines. If your dog or cat is being referred to us by your veterinary surgeon, you can rest assured that we will provide the best care possible, whatever the problem may be.
Our team is led by Mr.Shane Guerin who is an officially recognized veterinary Specialist. A Specialist is an individual who has had advanced training leading to a Diploma status in their field of expertise and who also fulfils other stringent criteria, such as those regarding their involvement in clinical work and research, as well as other responsibilities including the training of others involved in the veterinary profession.
Our specialist veterinary surgeons have national and international reputations and have written scientific papers, published in text books and regularly speak at local, national and international meetings. As well as offering continuing education to other members of our profession, our vets regularly attend scientific meetings in order to keep up-to-date in their specific fields of expertise.
We continually strive to enhance and improve the service we offer to owners, their pets and the veterinary surgeons who entrust their patients to our care.
