Your pet has had very successful major surgery today. No complications were encountered. We would like to bring a few important points about post-operative care to your immediate attention. You are now in charge of the 'after care' of our patient. The obligation is on you to see that all is going well and to seek our attention if you are unhappy or unsure about anything. you are not totally happy about your pet, the wound, etc., telephone us
immediately. If we dont know that something is wrong, we cannot help you
or, worse still, prevent a potential disaster. 1. Check what medication your pet requires before leaving the clinic. 2. Feed your pet this evening as you have been instructed. 3. Make an appointment, before you leave, to be seen at the clinic tomorrow so that we can monitor progress, check the wound etc. There is no charge for this consultation. 4. Do not allow your pet to lick or interfere with the wound under any circumstances. This may cause infection. Let us know if this is a problem. 5.

Sutures will need to be removed in 8 - 10 days. 7. Telephone the clinic to provide a progress report. 8. Restrict exercise to walking on the lead until the sutures have been removed.
