Hospital
Lay-out |
Waiting
Room: A large waiting room is provided for our clients with three
consultation rooms available through-out the day. These rooms are
spacious and clean with minimum clutter. Consultations are by appointment
only. |
Laboratory:
The laboratory area contains modern equipment with blood results available
within 6 minutes. |
Dog
Ward: Three different kennel sizes are available for the dogs.
Walk-in kennels are available for large/giant breeds of dogs. |
Cat
Ward: This area is located away from the dog ward providing a
'quiet area' for patients. |
Isolation
Unit: An isolation unit is located away from these wards and is
used for animals with suspected infectious diseases. |
Exercise
Area: Hospitalised patients can be exercised within an enclosed
outside area of the hospital. |
Cattery:
A cattery is available for boarding cats when owners need a 'home
from home' for their pets. Proof of recent vaccinations, together
with flea and worming treatments are essential before these pets are
admitted for boarding. Our veterinary staff care for these pets. |
Intensive
Care: The intensive care area is located within the heart of the
working area of the hospital. This allows the staff to constantly
monitor very sick patients throughout the day. Expensive, up-to-date
equipment is used to care for these patients. |
Treatment
Room: The treatment room is the busiest room in the house. Here
patients are anaesthetised and prepared for x-rays, surgery, bandages
changes, blood samples etc. |
Radiology:
Our radiology room is equipped with a powerful ex-hospital X-ray
unit and automatic processor. This machine helps us diagnose numerous
conditions, including hip dysplasia, heart conditions, bone fractures
etc. |
Theatre
area: There are two state-of-the-art operating theatres. A scrub
area for surgeons to wash prior to surgery is located outside the
operating theatres. All orthopaedic procedures involve a team of four
individuals. All surgeries require individuals to wear masks, hats,
gowns, and gloves. |
All
patients are given modern gaseous anaesthetic agents and hospital-standard
anaesthetic monitoring equipment is used routinely. A nurse is dedicated
to each anaesthesised patient and written records are maintained throughout
each procedure. Pain relief is a crucial part of the post-operative
care of all of our patients. |
